So we passed by the house that has the pacel of piglets and Cena is a week away from being “sellable”. I had my eye on a white one with black spots (looks just like mamma), but there is another “cafe con leche” colored one that has my eye as well. The lady of the house, Senora Gomez wants me to buy two, but I don’t think we need to encourage any inbreeding…we’ll find a suitor from another gene pool just fine. I thought they were another month from being weened, but once again the Nica Spanish dialect confused me. They want $700 cordoba which sounds like an amazing amount, but it’s about $30 US… not too bad. We’re supposed to be getting a puppy as well around the same time so the two babies can grow up together. The puppy is from a neighbor whose pure bred Rotwieller mated with his indian dog, so we’ll get the best of both hopefully.
So my buddy Scott got in last evening and he’s settling in well. Three more buddies show up tomorrow night, my new surf guide shows up in the morning and Alex Leaves the day after tomorrow. There will be a big shift in the vibe around here, but I’m looking forward to it. Mostly I’m looking forward to a decent swell that is supposed to hit us later in the week. We should be able to track down some awesome waves to impress my friends/guests (as well as myself).
Right now we’re watching vintage surf videos and eating home made yellow cake with fresh papaya glaze and it’s jummy jummy to say the least. It’s 8:30 though and pretty much time to get to bed. We’ve got an early start tomorrow to get the tides right for the morning surf.
