As predicted the swell hit. Yesterday was “HEAVY!” No let me rephrase that, “HHHEEEAAAAVVVYYY!” Only the bold few made it out yesterday and luckily came back in one piece. It’s great when we get to see Mother Nature take control as remind us who really is the boss. While that was going on at the came, a few of us took off to look inside the active Volcano Masaya then to the town Masaya, where the best artisan market in Nicaragua is, to buy some one of a kind artwork, jewelry, tapestries, woodwork and much more. One of our guest’s wife was in the Peace Core a few years back so we went to visit the family she had stayed with for 7 months in Niquinohomo. They were extremely hospitable and cooked us some of the best gallo pinto, fried chicken, fried cheese, AND onion rings in the world. After we went to Laguna De Apollo (a beautiful crater lake in an extinct volcano) to swim and watch the howler monkey’s all around us. Everyone was beat, but still enough energy to swap good surfing stories and good times at the end of the night.
