Last week when I was sending out emails to the guys coming in, I was giving words of encouragement about how good we were expecting the waves to be upon their arrival. I had to go and open my big mouth! I was telling them about how July was historically offshore every day, all day and there would be no rain for the whole month. Well it’s been raining a lot for the first half of July and we just suffered through two days where onshore winds grounded us most of the day (in Sandino, not at our other location). Today though dawned with fresh off shores that lasted the whole day and some very clean and hollow swell to keep us busy. It was a tough call this morning…surf and tire yourself out for the Frieght Trains session later, but at least get in a session if the winds turn bad….or rest and be fresh for FT’s… some rested, some surfed, but the morning sessions were a little swamped by high tide and FT’s was magic as it usually is. Now we just have to wait and see what global climate change does to the rest of July.
