When guests asked me what the waves were going to be like today I told them “probably pretty flat…maybe shoulder high on the sets…it may be a better day to go volcano boarding or just do some ‘day drinking'”. Of course we went on a mission to find surf, because that’s what we do…and what you see is what we got. It maybe “flat” compared to the normal 8-10 foot faces that are more the norm here in Nicaragua than the exception, but it wasn’t flat compared to the gauges most carry. It was a nice adventure….Transito in the morning for the rising tide, then some hardcore siesta time during the heat of the day, followed by a Miramar session that was showing some promise for the swell arriving tomorrow. Our fingers are crossed as this new swell looks like a small pulse, but by Monday/Tuesday forecasts are showing double overhead (again!). Stay tuned for some big barrel shots…in the mean time, enjoy the little rippers pictured above…not bad for a “flat” day.
