With regards to the title: I blew it and erased the pictures of us winching out some Nicas who tried to take their two wheel drive flatbed out onto the beach. We were returning and they had the truck stuck blocking the only access/egress for us…in typical Nica fashion. I told myself that we would probably only rarely, if ever, have to use the winch on the truck and when we did it wasn’t going to be to get us unstuck, it was going to be used to help someone else…a prophecy that was all too true. In the end though, we got their truck unstuck and “The Gravedigger” (The nickname for our big Toyota Landcruiser) came in handy once again.
On a more fun note…the waves were pretty fun. We went to a somewhat secret beach break a little north of us and found a few guys out that were much better surfers than just about anyone we’d seen here before. I think there names were Matt Meola, Kerrzy and another punk named Dylan Graves or something like that. They surfed ok. We let them alone and took the peak down the beach so we wouldn’t be competing for waves;-)
Oh…and the pool got all new water…the rains had upset the balance and it was time to change it out. You’ll see us enjoying the fresh cool water that came from the well and some ice cold Tona’s that came from the fridge.
