Photo 1: This is the rancho under construction…if you don’t know what a “rancho” is, think patio, palapa, lanai, etc… You can see they’ve got the posts set into the concrete and the cross members to support the floor joists bolted in place. They wanted two months to get this project done, but it’s going pretty fast. I probably just jinxed it though…something will come up and delay construction. All I know is we’ll have one sweet view from the hammocks when all is done. Photo
2: Scott Dyer- he’s a tooth nerd, which is to say he’s a dentist. What a great guy though…bringing up 4 kids and all of them good (very good) kids. He volunteers time in 3rd world countries doing free dental work…except it’s not free…it costs him and his colleagues a lot of money to bring the volunteers, equipment and supplies required to help out people who otherwise would have no access to dental care. If you’ve ever had a toothache, you know he’s just about saving lives. When he’s not camping, rock climbing or doing something else outdoorsy he’s doing group art with his family or blowing glass with his father. Originally from Vegas, he’s calling Oregon home now, but I hope he feels at home down here because he’s always welcome back.
