Good times at the sand bar… we thought it was going to be too windy as the offshores were howling all morning…somehow buy the time we got out (15 minutes after low tide), the wind had backed off a bit and things were popping of nicely. There were some good surfers in the water too so we saw quite a few shacks…unfortunately a lot of the hollowest waves were on the inside where we couldn’t keep the boat safely in view. We basically would watch guys pump down the line and then disappear as they hit the inside hollow section…then we’d wait to see if they came out in the white wash or kicked out over the shoulder. There was a lot of hooting, some good energy, some teasing (especially when Sean Kane fell, which is like every time!) and there were only a couple of drop ins that were handled with some stern words. All in all…a pretty fantastic day!
Swell is supposed to be growing now and overnight as well. It looks like it could be pushing double overhead! Time to get the big boards down.
