There’s nothing wrong with this picture, that’s the answer! This a weird year in a good way, we’ve had three of the biggest swells I’ve seen in Nicaragua come through in the last 6 weeks and now another even bigger swell is on the horizon. The other swells have downgraded as they got really close and I’m guessing this one will as well, but for now it’s the biggest we’ve seen on tap yet! The peak day is showing 6-7 feet of deepwater swell at 16 seconds (that’s the best period for around here). If 3 feet at 16 seconds is 8-10 foot faces then we’re in for a shit show of triple overhead waves! I’d say it might be bigger but the outer reefs block a lot of energy and the swells do decay a bit over the 60 mile continental shelf. The hitch is we don’t even have boards big enough to get into those waves…that’s what’s wrong with this picture! Unless you’re John John or Slater, riding a 6’4 in triple overhead is pretty difficult. I guess we’ll try though, what else are we going to do?
I can see the future and in it….we’re towing in with the jet ski;-)
