Somebody punch us in the face! We deserve it. With the Alaskans, Sean and Caitlin in the house and our other buddy Damon, from Seattle…we were representing the Pacific Northwest in South Central. Based on the shorter period small waves forecast we headed up to Salinas Grande. I’m sure you’ve heard me talk about it but Salinas needs one of two things…12-13 second peirod with hopefully at least 1 foot of swell but perferably 2-3…or it needs crossed up swell. We had some small cross up and some shorter period ground swell and you’ll see in the frames that the waves were pretty good. Spread us all out over a few hundred yards of peaks and there was plenty of cheddar to go around. Despite that we did have a good time hassling and talking trash, photo bombing and trying to hit the photographer.
Keith has been on photo duty with a twisted ankle. We took some boomerangs out on the beach the other day and while chasing one down he stepped on a rock wrong and he’s been taking it easy every since. Yes, boomerangs are supposed to come back to you, but that is easier said than done. Now if we can just get Keith to lick the lens a little more often, we’ll get rid of those water spots on the lens. He said he didn’t want to because he didn’t know who else had licked the lens before him?!
