Check out this beauty reeling off as we pulled up in the boat. We got in the water pretty quick after this.
I had Marvin take us out the second channel this morning and it was a bit of a trick to pick our way through the sand bars. In the river mouth the bars change by the tide and this morning was no different. We idled through the inside and found our way into a little bay that was not exactly safe harbor when a wide swinging set sent us racing out and over the incoming swells. We were able to hover around there long enough to snap this sequence. It was a total of 31 shots that I whittled down by taking one frame for every few. What you can see though is pretty much magic- a solitary perfect wave, with nobody on it, spinning for over 30 seconds along a perfectly formed sandbar. It’s hard to judge the size, it wasn’t huge…maybe head high when it threw and shoulder high in the last frame. I don’t know what you’re dreaming about, but in my dream, there is plenty of room for me inside that little barrel…but by dream came true. Sweet Dreams!
