Keithy-poo and I were treated to some bonding time out at Pipes this morning. The forecast is calling 2-4 feet, but it was definitely a little bigger on the sets. It was nice an hollow too! It’s been better on the lower tides lately. Usually a mid-tide spot, this low energy swell hits the reef with a little more juice when the tide is almost bottomed out. With the strong winds, as you’ll see in the photos, it was a tricky, slabby take off, but if you got into it in the right spot it was pretty much as sure tube. Once again… the offseason is not so ‘off’.
